Educational program

Jardin d’enfants Le Tournesol’s educational program is developed by the teachers and is based on the Ministère de l’Éducation du Quebec’s kindergarten program, the same program that your child will be exposed to in primary school. They also validate the program with the local teaching staff of surrounding primary schools in order to obtain feedback but also to update their program to take into account specific needs and expectations of the school’s new students.

Jardin d’enfants Le Tournesol’s program is established over a period of two years to allow a child to develop at his/her pace and hence, give him/her the opportunity to develop the necessary skills for kindergarten. Each child will be asked to participate in a range of activities, from fully-directed to free-play, where different aspects of their development are stimulated. Particular attention is paid to social skills and the emotional development of the child. The activities are carefully designed, led by teaching professionals and offer interesting themes for the children.

3-year-old group

In order to be admitted in the 3-year-old group, the child must have reached the age of  3 no later than September 30th of the current year.

Each 3-year-old group is composed of a maximum of 12 children.

Schedule

Tuesday and Thursday, 8:30 to 11:30

 

4-year-old group

In order to be admitted in the 4-year-old group, the child must have reached the age of 4 no later than September 30th of the current year.

Each 4-year-old group is composed of a maximum of 16 children.
